With worldwide R&D and manufacturing facilities and global sales and marketing channels, we are united by our customer-centric principles: quality, innovation and value. Every astute business in the Digital Era faces a fundamental challenge. How do we consistently deliver quality, value, performance and enjoyment to our customers, within ever-narrower timeframes and even in the face of contracting margins and increasing competition? As a company with an 18-year history of transformation that has seen it grow from a powerhouse of the PC era to a communications and multimedia leader, BenQ has the answer: foresight and commitment. We nurture these attributes in our corporate culture and we apply them in our sales, manufacturing and R&D activities. Over the past five years, we have invested 4% of our revenues in research and development. Our facilities include the Wireless Technology Center in California, the Hsinchu Lab in Taiwan, and the Suzhou Software Development Center in China, and we have amassed more than 400 global patents covering display, imaging, and communications products as well as storage devices. By focusing on Intellectual Property we have created a product range that is unrivalled in its breadth and depth. And we have built a reputation based on the quality and performance of our technologies. At the same time, we have sought to address consumer need from the very earliest stages of the R&D process. To ensure we anticipate changing market trends, we share insights with our partners as we seek to design timeliness and enjoyment into everything we build. Emphasizing efficient supply chains and the highest standards of production-line quality, BenQ prides itself on the excellence of its manufacturing operations. We maximize production volumes to achieve economies of scale and allow flexibility in component allocation. Furthermore, we began investing in the key component sector several years ago to gain competitive advantage even in the face of component shortages. To meet the future demands of broadband technology, for example, we have a strong foundation in copper wire, optical fibers and wireless technology and have locked up component sources through strategic investments and long-term supply agreements. BenQ has manufacturing plants in Malaysia, Mexico, China and Taiwan. We were an early and significant investor in a number of these locations, helping to establish them as centers of high-tech manufacturing. Today, our experience and unrelenting drive for improvement continues to bring our customers high-quality, best-value products. With a consumer focus that extends from concept to design, manufacture and delivery, we support our products through a strong sales, marketing and service network that spans Greater China, Asia Pacific, Europe and the Americas. While taking advantage of the synergy of this network, each market is served according to its unique strengths and individual needs. Our international service capability is a key factor in our relationships with our global channel partners and our ongoing success. In this area, as well as in manufacturing and R&D, tenacity, creativity and efficiency have contributed to BenQ's position at the forefront of the industry. As one of the foundations of our success, these attributes are upheld in a corporate culture that rewards vitality. |
