Today's new Digital Age consumers are being neglected.

Informed and influential, they want technology to bring enjoyment and efficiency into their lives. But for now they must compromise, choosing between quality and value, innovation and reliability, simplicity and style, functionality and fun: the tradeoffs are endless.

And yet it does not have to be this way.

In launching BenQ, we are bringing these attributes together for the first time. Our vision is to empower consumers to integrate technology and lifestyle in celebration of sensory enjoyment.

BenQ will leverage the strengths of Acer Communications and Multimedia (ACM), a US$2 billion company that was founded by the influential Acer Group in 1984. Within the Group, ACM has been operating as an autonomous entity for the past decade. Now, with our sights firmly fixed on the future, we are changing our name and creating an independent brand identity separate from Acer.

Under the banner of our new brand, our organization will be better able to focus all our efforts on the communications and multimedia sectors in which we are already a global leader. And as we evolve, we will be able to achieve faster, more efficient service for our customers and partners.

To capture and captivate the Digital Age consumer, BenQ will rely on two key strengths.

The first is our innovative spirit. By investing heavily in research and development and in the continuous improvement of our manufacturing operations, we have created and delivered a range of quality products that is unrivalled in its breadth and depth. Indeed, BenQ is unique in supporting both computer users and adopters of the digital communications and multimedia products of the post-PC era.

Our second advantage is the strength of our customer service relationships. We maintain direct channels to our business partners in order to achieve better support and customer service. In China, for example, we have led the industry in establishing a successful e-service network that allows us to respond directly to our customers with greater efficiency and speed.
